“We are creators of space, explorers of sensitive relationships.”

ESPACE is a multidisciplinary project born from the collaboration of four Brussels-based artists: Ilaria Orlandini and Théo Marion-Wuillemin (dancers), Andrés Navarro García (percussionist), and Mattia Massolini (double bassist). Their work explores improvisation through sound and movement, focusing on the dynamic relationship between the visible and invisible aspects of space. This project, supported by the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles (with a dance research grant received by Ilaria Orlandini), delves into the interaction between movement, sound, and space.

The space is not merely a backdrop but an active, living entity that reacts, transforms, and guides artistic expression. Espace embraces freedom and improvisation, allowing for unexpected expressions to emerge.

At the heart of the project is the idea that space is a place of expression where every artistic body, sound, and music can manifest freely, unfold, and interact with others. The space becomes a platform for exploration, allowing the artists to follow the flow of the present moment, with the space itself reacting, transforming, and guiding their expression.
